A computational scheme for the solution of nonlinear parabolic partial differential equations is developed. The proposed scheme, which is second order accurate in time, is based upon a combined approach of quasi-linearization and the Galerkin method wherein a basis consisting of the cubic B-splines has been used. An illustrative example is solved to test the scheme. The numerical results are in good agreement with the available results.
