Abstract

A comparative study of potential evapotranspiration (PET) by various methods, viz., Penman (1963), Monteith (1964) and Thorn and Oliver (1977) in relation to mesh-covered class A Pan evaporation (EP) is presented for 9 radiation stations situated in different agroclimatic zones. Computation of PET by Monteith's method for a tall crop is recommended for adoption in place of Penman's method (1963).
