Abstract

The three level primitive equation model is being developed to simulate the dynamic effects of orography on the large scale motion of the atmosphere. The model performance is tested by conducting the experiment with zonal westerly flow and elliptic barrier with maximum height of one km at the centre of the region. The model is integrated for S days. The forecast fields are presented and the results are discussed.
