Tracking tropical storms in the Bay of Bengal and calculation of probabilities of its striking east coast by storm analogue technique

tropical storms, storm analogue technique, ellipsesAbstract
The storm analogue technique is used to determine the forecast position of the storm for next 72 hours. Based on these positions the various parameters for different probability ellipses are computed. These probability ellipses are then utilized to work out the probabilities of existing cyclone striking a particular area on the east coast of India.
