The influence of climate and technology on wheat yield over Punjab State and four of its districts is studied based on climatic models. The important climatic factors are identified and their role is discussed. The validity of the models is judged by their relative performance in estimating the yields over a four year independent data set. The use of State model to estimate the district yields is suggested.
