Focal mechanism solutions of seven earthquakes during 1970-1976 along with the results of the earlier workers have been used to understand the nature of faulting in the Szechwan Province. China. It has been found that the nature of faulting is predominantly normal in this region. Pressures are steeply dipping trending northwest-southeast while the tensions are generally shallow.
