Abstract

In the central parts of India, there are occasions when fairly widespread to widespread rains with isolated heavy falls occur although the lower tropospheric flow pattern exhibits break in monsoon. The present study brings out the presence of significant synoptic features at 700 and 500mb levels that could be associated with such rainfall activity. The thermal patterns eating during such periods have also been studied.
