Development of instruments for the purpose of measurement of crustal deformation at suitably selected location in Indian was started in 1967 at the Training in Earthquake Engineering , university of Roorkee. Now Several permanent observatory vaults have been constructed and limited measurement done employing the instrument developed. The basic consideration influencing the plan of such measurement in the field have also been studied in detail. The paper briefly outline the salient features and the present status of these studied.Downloads
