Abstract

Issue of districtwisc Farmers' Weather Bulletin in its present form, is too general to be of any specific use to the farmer. It was felt that attempts  should be made to improve the Farmers  Weather Bulletins and a beginning in this direction is made with a detailed study of rainfall characteristics over Madhya Maharashtra. It is often seen that there is wide variation in the intensity and distribution of rainfall even within thes ame district.  A study of such rainfall characteristics of 'Satara district in south Madhya Maharashtra has been taken up. A roughline of delineation running north-south across the district is suggested which distinguishes the rainfall distribution
in the talukas to the west and the talukas to the east.
