Abstract

Radiation errors of various sondes in use in other countries have been determined by different methods and corrections are now applied to the observed temperatures in all routine ascents where these sondes are used. Till very recently, except for a short period in 1948, only one night sounding at 2030 IST used to be made at all radiosonde stations in India.
