Bigg's report (Bigg 1959) on his having distinctly detected isolated stratiform cloud, situated at an altitude of 10 km, with the help of twilight observations using 6000-8000 A light is of great interest. In the present article we should like to dis-cuss some questions of twilight phenomena theory, and in particular, to touch on the problem of solar radiation absorption by water vapour in the earth's atmosphere.
