Abstract

Defining a rainless day as one when no rain was recorded or the rainfall recorded was 3 cents or less, the occurrence of all the rainless days and rainless spells at Delhi during the period 1876-1931 have been listed. Relevant tables giving means, standard deviation and extreme number of rainless days for different months and the frequencies of rainless spells of different duration have been derived. The probability of a day falling in   a rainless spell of specified duration has also been worked out.
