Abstract

A new empirical method has been developed for computing the pan evaporation (E) using solar radiation intensities as obtained from the formulae of Reddy (1971) for total and net radiation intensities, The  results obtained are in good agreement with observed value, which are presented. The formulae of Reddy (1971) for total (Rt) and nf,t (En) radiation intensities are extended to hill stations and are discussed. Curves suitable for direct reading of Rt. Rn and E values to the required accuracy are also presented.
