A severe cyclonic storm which developed in the east central Arabian Sea in the second week of June 1964, moved northwards and struck the Kathiawar coast causing serious havoc. A brief account of this storm together with the relevant synoptic features are given in the paper. The study reveals some of the noteworthy surface characteristics of the storm in respect of surface pressure, wind field, speed of movement and surface temperature which are discussed in the paper.
