All the available data from historic time has been collected for earthquakes of magnitude 5 and above occurring in and around India and an epicentral map has beer. prepared.
Earthquake recurrence curve for the Himalayan seismic region and for a few places of special interest. viz., Chatra,Dehra Dun. Delhi and Sonepat have been drawn. It has been found that the slope of the recurrence diagrams is nearly the same in all cases. It does not vary with the change in area. or the interval of time taken. The results obtained have been discussed.
