Abstract

The paper summarises the results of measurements of diffuse solar radiation made at a network of 10 stations in India since 1958. In highly polluted urban areas the ratio of diffuse to global radiation is almost twice that in non-industrial regions. The diffuse radiation has also shown a marked increase in urban areas during the last ten years.
